Greetings,

The Whitney M. Young Master’s Graduate Student Association (YMGA) requests your support towards the presentation, The Healing Properties of the Blues, a fundraiser that supports the work of the MSW and BSW degree programs. The event takes place Saturday, April 18, 2009, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Bishop Cornelius L. Henderson Student Center Multipurpose Room.

Healing Properties of the Blues will include a Silent Auction, a Workshop by Clark Atlanta University Faculty and Students, and Performances by the SaNa Band, Sandra Hall, and national recording artist, Chick Willis.

The workshop will probe into the content of the Black experience as expressed in blues songs and demonstrate how it translates into a problem-solving process for the well-being of African Americans and people of other cultures. Three Continuing Education Units (C.E.U.s) will be available upon request. There will be refreshments and entertainment for the entire family.
